Make A Task List
Make a ‘To-Do’ list of all the essential tasks (see below) and then you can work through them, ticking them off as you go. Now you’re moving like a boss!
Declutter
All that stuff, filling up your old home, don’t take it with you. Start the clear out now and ditch the detritus. New home, new you!
Book Early
Some days and dates are more popular for removals. Book your removal company as early as possible to ensure you get the company you want on the dates you want.
Get Started
Don’t leave it all until the last minute. Start packing (and decluttering) loft spaces, sheds, outbuildings, garages, all those areas full of items you don’t need or use regularly.
Need To Know
Contact everyone who needs to know you’re moving, utilities companies, banks, home and car insurance, update your driving license with your new address. You can have the Post Office redirect your mail redirected for a set period.
First Shop
Book that all important first shop to arrive at your new home the day after your move. Moving house is hungry work, you don’t want to start your new life with empty cupboards.
Box Clever
Stockpile those moving boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, marker pens. Facebook’s Marketplace is a handy place to find people giving away moving boxes if you don’t want to buy new, reusing boxes is also a great way to make your move a little bit greener.
